Boksburg Attractions

Boksburg (pop. 250,000) is a densely populated industrial town on the Witwatersrand, 20km/12.5mi east of Johannesburg, founded in 1887 on the land of Leeuwpoort Farm as an administrative center for the goldfields.
Boksburg Lake
Boksburg Lake offers sailing plus row boats for hire. Other attractions include a golf course and a roller-skating rink.
Hechter Schultz Museum and Study Centre
The privately run Hechter Schultz Museum and Study Centre (seen only by appointment) has collections of ethnographic material on the life of the Ndebele, Zulu, Xhosa and other peoples as well as beadwork and hunting weapons of the Bushmen.
