Brunnenkogel and Hildesheimer Hütte

 
To the southeast of Sölden there is a climb by way of the Falknerhütte (1,977m/6,487ft; inn in summer) and the Brunnenkogelhaus (2,737m/8,980ft; inn in summer) to the Brunnenkogel (2,780m/9,121ft; extensive views); to the east through the gorge-like Windachtal by way of the Fieglwirtshaus (1,957m/6,421ft; accommodation) and then either in five hours to the Siegerlandhütte (2,710m/8,892ft; accommodation), at the head of the valley, or in 5.5 hours to the Hildesheimer Hütte (2,899m/9,512ft; inn, accommodation), on the Pfaffenferner, the starting point for the ascent of the Schaufelspitze (3,333m/10,036ft; one and a half hours, not difficult to experienced climbers) or the Zuckerhütl (3,057m/11,506ft; three hours with guide).
