Svartegjel Gorge

From Borgund the road runs through the picturesque Svartegjel gorge, carved by the Lðrdalselv (a good salmon river) through the rock barrier of the Vindhella. Beyond Husum (alt. 316m/1,037ft) it passes through another magnificent gorge and comes to Lðrdalsøyri.

The road now runs along the south side of the Lærdalsfjord. From Revsnes there is a ferry across the Sognefjord to Kaupanger.
