Sigmaringen Schloss

|
On a hill rising steeply up from the Danube stands the imposing castle of the Princes of Sigmaringen-Hohenzollern. Originally a medieval stronghold, it was reconstructed in the 17th C. After being destroyed by fire in 1893 it was rebuilt in its present form between 1895 and 1908.
The magnificently appointed interior is open to the public. The castle contains a variety of collections - weapons, miniatures, prehistoric antiquities, Swabian paintings, stained glass (15th and 16th c.) - and the Marstall (Court Stables) Museum.
