Parador Nacional de Gredos

Fromávila C 502 runs southwest into the Sierra de Gredos. At Venta Rasquilla C 500, coming from the high valley of the Río Albeche, goes off on the right and runs below the north side of the sierra to the Parador Nacional de Gredos (alt. 1,650m/5,414ft), 62km/39mi fromávila, magnificently situated in the wooded foreland of the sierra. The parador is popular both as a health resort and as a winter sports center. Much of this region, in which ibexes and chamois still live, is now a National Park.
