Description
(Local Name: Palazzo Arcivescovile) Opposite the north side of the cathedral in Siena is the Palazzo Arcivescovile (Archbishop's Palace), built in 1718-23 in 14th century Gothic style - a surprisingly early example of Neo-Gothic, designed to preserve the architectural unity of the square. The ground floor of the palazzo has the same kind of facing in two colors of marble as the cathedral.
