Prasat Kamphaeng Yai

Some impressive ruins remain from the Prasat Kamphaeng Yai (Highway 2076 to junction with 226, then left). These include a monumental portal at the entrance, two brick buildings artistically sculptured in part, ruins of three prangs and the outer and almost completely preserved interior wall. Together with well-preserved ledges, window and door lintels there is a relief of the god Shiva riding an elephant above a grotesque demonic face. The origin of a bronze figure (no arms), possibly representing Vishnu, is unknown.
