Sharjah - Arabian Wildlife Center

 
The Arabian Wildlife Center features over 100 species of current and extinct animals from the Arabian Peninsula. The reptile, fish and insect house feature Arabian snakes including the venomous vipers and adders, monitor lizards and chameleons. Common insects such as camel spiders and scorpions are exhibited.

The bird aviary at the Arabian Wildlife Center in Sharjah contains several species of songbirds, Indian Roller birds, Houbara Bustard and flamingos. The aviary is set in a wadi and desert environment with a walk-through cave containing a tank with blind cave fish from Oman.

Beside the aviary are the smaller cats of the desert such as the Caracal, the Wildcat and the Sand Cat.

The nocturnal house displays a variety of mammals including three species of fox, porcupines, hedgehogs, mongoose and twelve rodent species.

Other animals on display include baboons, wolves, hyena, cheetah and the rare Arabian leopard.
