Caves of Mount Tianlongshan Description
The twenty or more caves on the slopes of Mount Tianlongshan 40km/25mi to the southwest of Taiyuan date mainly from the Tang period (618-907); some are even older. Unfortunately, most of the sculptures are very poorly preserved, but the Buddha statue in Cave 9 is in good condition.
