Sfax - Other Sights

Between the Great Mosque and Bab el Djebli, the north gate of the Medina, is the souk quarter in Sfax. Near Bab el Djebli, at the end of Rue Abd el Kader, is the Zaouia of Sidi Abd el Kader. Outside the Medina walls lies the new Market (Marché), and beyond this the New Mosque (Nouvelle Mosquée). There are a number of other mosques in the Medina, their facades decorated with verses from the Koran and beautiful stucco ornament. 1.5km/1mi west of the town center are a small park and the Stadium.
