Sfax - Folk Museum / Dar Jellouli

The Folk Museum in Sfax (Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires, or Musée ATP for short) is housed in Dar Jellouli, a two-story 18th century mansion which belonged to a wealthy Andalusian family, with a beautiful inner courtyard surrounded by horseshoe arches and delicately carved door and window framings of Gabès stone. The exhibits include a wide range of everyday objects, storage jars, kitchen equipment, a collection of spices, furniture and furnishings, traditional costumes and jewelry, glass paintings and Arab calligraphy.
