Ste Anne Marine National Park Description
Ste Anne National Marine Park is enjoyed for its glass-bottom boats and snorkeling though visitors are prohibit from fishing or collecting shells or corals. It became the first national park in the Indian Ocean in 1973. Covering six islands off the coast of Mahe near Victoria, four of the islands, Beacon, Round, Cerf and Moyenne, are open to public.

Ste Anne Island, an important nesting site for hawksbill turtles, is closed though a planned hotel would open it to the public. This granite island features a peak rising 246m/800ft above the surrounding thick tropical vegetation. In spite of it mangroves and crocodiles, the island was the site of a 1770 French settlement, the first in the Seychelles.
