Scranton - Steamtown National Historic Site
U.S. Congress created Steamtown in 1986 to tell the history of main line steam railroading from 1850-1950. Spanning 40 acres of the former Scranton Yards of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, Steamtown includes historic railroading buildings dating back to 1865, three functioning historic steam locomotives, a restored 1902 roundhouse, a 1937 roundhouse, a Visitor Center, a 250-seat theater, history museum and technology Museum.
