Santa Margherita Description
West of the cathedral, in Via F. Incisa, stands the Chiesa Santa Margherita, which is no longer used as a place of worship. It was endowed in 1342 by the Infant Eleonara d'Aragona, who died in Giuliana in 1405 and whose bust can now be seen in the Palazzo Abatellis in Palermo. The main door of the original Gothic building has been preserved. On the north side is another door dating from 1468, with sculptures by Francesco Laurana. Since being rebuilt in 1595 the interior has been a single-aisled hall-church with rich stucco decoration.
