A good base for climbs, e.g. to the Erzegg (2,176 m/7,139ft; 1.25 hours; ski-lift) and the Hochstollen (2,484 m/8,150ft; 2-2.5 hours); easy and pleasant footpath to the Engstlenalp (three hours). Chairlift from the southern end of the Melchsee (1,900 m/6,234ft; 20 minutes) to the Balmeregghorn (2,230 m/ 7,317ft).
