Sarasota - Myakka River State Park

 
Myakka River State Park has 57-square miles of wildlife reserve containing a large variety of animal and plant species. The Myakka River is designated as a Florida Wild and Scenic River. Visitors will enjoy the birdwalk or canopy walkway for the opportunity to view the oak-palm hammocks, pine forests and prairies. Deer and bobcats are prominent while alligators and wading birds inhabit the marshes around scattered throughout the 57 square miles of the park.

There are airboat and tram tours through different parts of the park, which allow visitors to get a unique view of the flora and fauna. Myakka River State Park also hosts educational and interpretative programs on the weekends.

8am-Sunset
Tips: Airboat tours leave at 10:00, 11:30, 13:30, 14:30. The nature tram departs at 13:00 and 14:30 Admission does not include the tours.
