Zaragoza's Paseo de la Independencia, which runs south from the Plaza de España, half way along Calle del Coso, is a fine avenue with arcades along the west side.

Santa Engracia
Near the end of the Paseo de la Independencia in Zaragoza, beyond the post office (on the left), is the former convent of Santa Engracia, an elaborately decorated Plateresque building (15th-16th century) which was almost completely destroyed in 1809 (restored 1898); only the alabaster doorway is original. In the crypt are two Early Christian marble sarcophagi.
Provincial Museum of Art
East from Santa Engracia, in the Plaza de José Antonio, is Zaragoza's Provincial Museum of Fine Art. On the ground floor are Roman antiquities, including a mosaic of Orpheus, Moorish art, and Romanesque and Gothic sculpture. The picture gallery is mainly devoted to works by both older and contemporary Spanish artists, Ribera, Goya and Bayeu being well represented, but there are also pictures by Italian and Flemish painters.
University City
At the south end of the Paseo de la Independencia is the oval Plaza de Aragón, and some 2km/1.25mi farther south, to the right of the Paseo de Fernando el Católico, lies the Ciudad Universitaria of Zaragoza.
Trade Fair Building
South from the Paseo de la Independencia, on the Paseo de Isabel la Católica, is the Zaragoza Trade Fair Building, in which the National Trade Fair is held annually in October.
Museum of Ethnology and Natural History
To the east of the Paseo de la Independencia in Zaragoza, in the beautiful Primo de Rivera Park is the Museum of Ethnology and Natural History.Typically on display are Aragonese regional costumes, tools, furniture, and a collection of ceramics and pottery. The Museum of Ethnology and Natural History is part of the Zaragoza Museum which operates two locations, including htis one in Primo de Rivera Park.
