(Local Name: Monumento de los Héroes de la Restauración de la República) Visible throughout Santiago, the 67m/220ft high El Monumento de los Héroes de la Restauración de la República presently houses a museum displaying works by Spanish muralist Vela Zannetti.

There is an excellent view of Santiago from its top.

The marble building was erected in the 1940s as a monument to the dictator Trujillo; it has since been dedicated to the Heroes of the Restoration.
