Santiago - Duarte Park Parque Duarte

The 19th C Catedral de Santiago Apostol has neoclassical features and beautiful stained glass windows. It contains the tombs of dictator Ulysses Heureaux and several Restoration heroes.

The Santiago Museum displays an interesting compilation of historical documents, artifacts and exhibits illustrating Santiago's history.

It is housed in the striking 19th C Palacio Consistorial, once the city hall.

The Museo del Tabaco houses an exhibit on the history of the tobacco industry from the 16th C and its importance to the economy of Santiago and the Dominican Republic.
