The Sandwich Glass Museum houses the highly-valued collection of glass produced in Sandwich during the 19th century. The 14 different galleries feature over 6,000 pieces of decorative and functional glassware. The collection includes vases, candlesticks, and lamps along with colored, pressed, lacy, blown, brown, cut, engraved and decorative glass. A diorama at the front of the museum demonstrates how glass was produced in the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company workshops from 1825 to 1888.
The Museum also includes a furnace for glassblowing demonstrations, a multi-media theater, a contemporary glass gallery and the new Hannah "Rebecca" Burgess Dining Room c.1880.
