Mózia - Town Wall

The visitor who follows the explanatory signs at the landing-stage and undertakes a round trip of the island, will see substantial parts of the 2,500m/2,740yd long town wall with its 20 towers and bastions, as well as the museum in the center of the island, and in the southern part the Casa dei Mosaici, which was built after the destruction of 397 B.C. and has early Hellenic black and white pebble mosaics (about 300 B.C.).

Finally there is the south gate and an artificial inner harbor (kothon) with an area of 40 x 50m/130 x 160ft, which presumably was also used in the past as a dock.
