USS Pampanito Description
The USS Pampanito (SS-383) in San Francisco is a World War II submarine. It was built at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in New Hampshire in 1943. It is 311 feet long with a displacement of 1,525 tons surfaced and 2,415 tons submerged. During the war it sank six Japanese ships and damaged four others.

USS Pampanito is berthed at Pier 45 Fisherman's Wharf and is open to the public every day.
