The Gaisberg (1,288m/4,226ft), 15km/9mi from the Salzburg town center, is Salzburg's "own mountain", with beautiful views of the town and surrounding region. In winter its wide expanses of Alpine meadows are a popular skiing area. On the summit are a large parking lot, an inn and a VHF and television relay station.
