Salem Maritime National Historic Site (Friendship)

The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is made up of about nine acres of land and twelve historic buildings along the waterfront in Salem. The site preserves Salem's long maritime history as the center of a large international trading operation in the late 18th and 19th century, helping to establish economic independence in the fledgling United States.
