Saint John - Fort Howe Lookout
There are two places from which, on a fine clear day, attractive views can be had over the attractively situated town of Saint John. One is Fort Howe Lookout (reached from Main St. via Metcalfe St and Magazine St). From the site of this wooden blockhouse perched high on its rocky cliff a magnificent panorama unfolds of the shipyards, harbor, river and town.
Fort Howe Lookout is a replica of the blockhouse that was built in 1777 in Halifax, then disassembled and rebuilt to protect the Saint John Harbor.
