Ludwigskirche

Northwest of the Schloss in Alt Saarbrücken lies Ludwigsplatz, surrounded by Baroque houses. In the center of the square is the Ludwigskirche (by Stengel, 1762-85; Protestant), restored after war damage, with a modern interior.

On the north side of Ludwigsplatz is the Museum of Prehistory and the Early Historical Period (Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte), part of the Saarland Cultural Foundation.
