Vindinge - Museum Railroad

To the southeast of Roskilde, near Vundinge, lies Roskilde Sommerland, a park with extensive open-air enclosures for animals and a games area. Nearby a narrow-gauge railroad, the Hedelands Veteranjernbane, runs on Sundays from May to September. Since it was opened in 1977 it has been extended several times and there are now 4 km/2.5 mi of track; the buildings and stops along the line are named after local places. The trains depart from Hedehusgård Station in Hedehusene). The terminus is the Flintebjerg, 81m/266ft high, from where there are excellent views on a fine day.
