Ronneby - Holy Cross Church

(Local Name: Heliga Korskyrka) Holy Cross Church (Heliga Korskyrka) in Ronneby, which dates from the 11th century, has frescoes of the 15th/16th century, brought to light during restoration work. In the church is a door bearing the marks of burning and ax-strokes, believed to date from 1564, when Eric XIV's forces took Ronneby and massacred the inhabitants. Near the church, in the Bergslagen district, can be found a local museum, Möllebackagården.
