Roanoke - Virginia's Explore Park (closed)

Virginia's Explore Park located in Roanoke is a wilderness area consisting of over 1100 acres astride the Roanoke River. Biking, walking, hiking, and fishing all await the great outdoorsman. For those less inclined to those sorts of activities, a full service restaurant is on site as is an outdoor living museum interpreting life in 1671, 1757, and 1850. The park is located at the mile 115 signpost on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
