The most considerable remnant of the Romanesque church, reasonably well preserved, is the 12th century main doorway, which is now given some protection from the elements by a glazed porch.
The doorway is covered with a profusion of sculpture on Old and New Testament themes. In the uppermost register are scenes from the Apocalypse (Christ enthroned, flanked by angels and the symbols of the Evangelists). Lower down, on the left of the doorway, are scenes from the Book of Kings; on the right are scenes from the Book of Exodus. Below this again are King David, with musicians, and fabulous beasts.
