Rio de Janeiro - Copacabana Fort
Copacabana Fort
At the far end of the beach, on Praça Coronel Eugànio Franco, is Copacabana Fort, which dates only from 1914. Since 1987 it has housed the Artillery Museum, which along with the Casa de Deodoro (Praça da República) and the Casa de Osório (Rua Riachuelo, Centro) forms part of the Army Historical Museum. Here, beside early 20th century gun-turrets for big guns, are modern armored cars and rocket-launchers.
