Reykjavík - Elliðaár River

(Local Name: Elliðaár) The Elliðaár is a small river flowing within the boundaries of Reykjavík and one of the world's cleanest salmon rivers. Each year the salmon season opens with the Mayor of Reykjavík catching Elliðaár's first salmon. The river yields 1,000 fish per day during its 90-day season.
