The unique igloo-shaped building that was designed and built mostly by Ásmundur Sveinsson himself housed both the artist's studio and his home.

The Ásmundur Sveinsson Sculpture Museum is dedicated to the works of the sculptor (1893-1982). A sculpture garden surrounds the Museum, decorated with thirty of his sculptures.
