Ragusa - Cathedral

At the junction with Corso Italia in Ragusa, the main street running from west to east, turn right to the Piazza San Giovanni. This square forms a terrace where the terrain falls away and is overshadowed by the imposing front of the Cathedral (1706-60), near which stands a high bell-tower, or campanile. The chapels in the triple-aisled interior are decorated with artistic stucco work.

Must-see attractions nearby:
Behind the church stands a beautiful Baroque edifice, the presbytery. Nearby will be found the Town Hall, the Municipio, to the east, as well as the Palace of Justice, the Prefecture and the Museo Archeologico Ibleo, to the south.
