Obertauern
After passing through Untertauern (1,008m/3,307ft) the Radstädter Tauern Road comes, shortly before the pass, to Obertauern (1,650m/5,414ft), which has developed into a popular summer and winter resort, with facilities for a variety of sports and an enclosed swimming pool. There is a cabin cableway to the Zehnerkar (upper station 2,192m/7,192ft), and chairlifts to the Grünwaldkopf (1,974m/6,477ft) and to the Wagnerspitze (1,980m/6,496ft). The Seekarspitze (2,350m/7,710ft), to the north, can be climbed from the Seekarhaus (1,790m/5,873ft) in 2.5 hours.

Skiing
One of Austria's most modern ski resorts, Obertauern, in the province of Salzburg, has a long season, usually lasting from the end of November through May and an uphill capacity of 34,190 people per hour, ensuring that lift lines are short or non-existent. With 26 lifts and 120 km of trails, there is plenty of skiing but the resort also offers a leisure center with squash, fitness studio and sauna as well as an indoor tennis center. It appeals to a fun-loving younger crowd.
