Housed in the Colonel George Davenport mansion, (the home of the namesake of the city of Davenport, IA) are artifacts representative of the early to mid-1800s which reflect the lifestyle of the Davenport family such as furniture, draperies, dishes, floor coverings, decorations and ornamentations. An exhibit room pictorially depicts the restoration project of the previously ravaged home. Custom narrated tours about the history of Colonel Davenport and the home are available at the house, along with a gift shop.
