Guayama Attractions
Guayama is an industrial town along the south coast of Puerto Rico. It was a wealthy town during colonial times and was involved in the smuggling trade that was prevalent in the area. Today Guayama has a number of factories and is a busy place. Despite the fact that there are only approximately 40,000 people, the streets can become very congested and the traffic is bad. However, Guayama has some nearby attractions and can be used as a base for exploring the area. In the city is the Museo Casa Cautiño and the Centro de Bellas Artes. Not far outside the city is the Reserva Natural Mariposario Las Limas (butterfly sanctuary), the nearby town of Arroyo, and some beautiful scenery.
