The community of Adjuntas, population 20,000, is known as the "town of the sleeping giant", a name derived from a nearby of the mountain. Founded in 1815, the town has seen thriving agricultural industries such as citron and coffee cultivation. Adjuntas' terrain is very mountainous due to its location in the Central Cordillera Mountains.
