The area around the Transvaal Museum is a Museum Mall, with paved walkways and signs directing to attractions.

It is the largest focal point of cultural resources in Africa. The park encompasses: Melrose House, Burgers Park, Transvaal Museum, the City Hall, a Children's Museum, the National Cultural History Museum, the Museum of Science and Technology and the State Library.
