Praia da Rocha - Beaches

Praia da Rocha's main beach is very picturesque, and consequently very popular. To the west extends a series of idyllic sandy bays separated from one another by projecting crags and reefs, although since a number of large holiday colonies are located around here, particularly near Alvor, it is not easy to find a secluded little spot. Recent developments have led to increasing numbers of highrise blocks, giving rise to overcrowding and commercialization. There is an extremely pleasant boat trip from Praia da Rocha past rugged seacliffs, with their bizarre rock formations, to Praia dos Três Irmaos, the "beach of the three brothers".
