Portinho da Arrabida Attractions

A tiny fishing village, now attracting increasing numbers of foreign visitors, Portinho da Arrábida is idyllically situated in a small sandy cove below the south side of the Serra da Arrábida, which here falls steeply down to the sea. There is excellent scuba diving to be had in the many little rocky coves, such as Praia de Galápos and Praia da Figuerinha, along this section of coast.
Convento Novo da Arrábida
Tucked away above Portinho da Arrábida on the southern slopes of the Serra da Arrábida is the Franciscan convent, the Convento Novo da Arrábida, founded in 1542, surrounded by a wall and now in private hands.
Lapa de Santa Margarida
About 500m/0.25mi west of Portinho da Arrábida in the little grotto of Lapa de Santa Margarida are early traces of man's existence (access by steps).
