Townscape
There is a fine view of the town from the old 15th/16th century bridge over the Rio Lima. The main building in
the town center is the handsome 15th century parish church, which has a beautiful coffered ceiling and a silver crucifix presented by King Manuel I. The pelourinho in the market place in the lower part of town dates from the 16th century.
