Portsmouth - Strawbery Banke Museum

Strawbery Banke was the name of the settlement which began at Portsmouth. The Strawbery Banke Museum is a ten acre complex which depicts the everyday life of the early settlers to the area. Historic houses and staff in period costumes help to recreate the setting.

The Abbott Corner Store has been restored and stocked with items from the time of WWII. Some of the other structures in the complex include the Pitt Tavern (1770), Wheelwright House (1780), Drisco House (1795), Walsh House (1796), and Chase House (1815), as well many others.
