Plettenberg Bay - Robberg Nature Reserve

From Plettenberg Bay a secondary road runs 9km/5.5mi southeast to Robberg Nature Reserve, on a 4km/2.5mi long peninsula at the foot of the Mountain of the Seal. The reserve is a breeding-place for many water birds, and dolphins and whales play off the coast. Within the reserve is a large cave which was occupied by prehistoric man. Information about the local flora and fauna can be obtained from the visitor center at the parking lot, which is the starting-point of a number of hiking trails, ranging in length between 2 and 11km (1.25 and 7mi) and passing many picnic spots.
