Description
North of City Hall, at 118 North Broad Street, is the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the oldest art school in the United States. It displays a large collection of American art of the last three centuries, including pictures by Peale, West, Sully and Eakins.

Housed in a Victorian Gothic building, the academy boasts the oldest art school and museum. On display are early American painters such as Charles Willson Peale, Gilbert Stuart and Thomas Eakins. Recent exhibits highlight contemporary works by artists such as Andy Warhol.
