Philadelphia - Fabric Workshop & Museum
The Fabric Workshop and Museum is the only organization of its kind in the United States. For 20 years, it has been devoted to creating new work in fabric in collaboration with emerging and nationally and internationally recognized artists.
Exhibitions are drawn from a permanent collection of more than 3,500 objects. Installations, sculpture, performance costumes, furniture, print multiples, monoprints, painting, and works on paper are among the media represented in exhibits, each object the creation of one of the artists participating in the Residence Program. Current exhibitions are often accompanied by lectures and other presentations by artists, curators, historians, and conservators.
