Philadelphia - Christ Church

Called "The Nation's Church" by some, Christ Church has been an active Episcopal parish for over three centuries. An Episcopal Church, it was built between 1727 and 1754. Christ Church is considered one of the most beautiful eighteenth-century structures in the country. Its congregation included George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. The church's steeple, at 196-feet high, is to this day a visible landmark from many parts of the city. It is referred as the "200-foot steeple" by church guides.

Both the church and the burial grounds, which are at Fifth and Arch Streets, are on the National Historic Register.
