Petersburg National Battlefield

The Petersburg National Battlefield has three Visitors Center located at Dinwiddie, Hopewell and Prince George Counties. Each one provides an excellent insight as to the key battle of the US Civil War. The centers are located on a 33 mile driving tour of the battlefield. The park recommends a full day be spent exploring the history of the battlefield.

The Poplar Grove National Cemetery is home to the casualties of the US Civil War. Located near Petersburg, the cemetery is managed by the National Park Service. Visitors will find an interpretive center, many interesting displays, and a variety of park educational programs. The site is easily accessible off Route 301 or Interstate 85.
