Caraz Attractions

Caraz is a unique town in the region because it has not suffered the affects of the earthquakes that have devastated many of the other towns. Original colonial architecture still exists, making this a very pretty little mountain town. There is a nice plaza here and a daily market. Caraz is also considerably lower than Huaraz, giving it a warmer climate.

This is a good place to arrange climbing and hiking trips. It's also the finish point for the Santa Cruz and Alpamayo hikes. There are several agencies in Caraz to arrange tours and there is also a variety of accommodation.
