Oil was discovered in 1859 by Col. Edwin Blake and Titusville known as the birthplace of the oil industry and was named Oil Creek Valley.
Drake Well Museum
The Drake Well Museum is located on the site where Edwin Drake drilled the world's first oil well in 1859. The story of the early oil industry, including oil field equipment, a replica of Drake's well, pumping jacks and oil transportation cars are featured.
A 10-mile biking trail and 30 miles of hiking trails connect Drake Well and Oil Creek State Park.

Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad
Restored 1930s passenger cars provide 2.5 hour train trips on the Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad. The depot is a renovated freight station that was built in 1896.
The tour begins at Drake Well Park, next stop is the Petroleum Centre Station in Oil Creek State Park, and ends at Rynd Farm Station.
